My work explores the intersection of painting, sculpture, and the natural world. Using clay as a painting surface, medium, and sculptural element, I create dimensional art that celebrates the beauty of landscapes, gardens, and floral still lifes.
Creative Background
I've always been drawn to creating with my hands. Over the years, I've explored painting, metalwork, baking, gardening, and design. Each creative pursuit has taught me something about color, composition, texture, and craftsmanship.
At 57, I discovered clay and found the medium that brought those experiences together. Today, I create sculptural ceramic pieces inspired by landscapes, gardens, and floral still lifes. Combining painterly surfaces with hand-sculpted botanical relief, my work blurs the line between painting and sculpture, inviting viewers to experience nature through texture, light, and depth.
Whether arranging a bouquet of fresh flowers or sculpting one in clay, I'm continually inspired by the beauty of the natural world and the joy of creating something that invites people to pause and look a little closer.
Portfolio
Inspired by the changing seasons and the quiet places that invite reflection, I build each piece through layers of hand-sculpted botanical forms and painterly surfaces. Light and shadow become part of the composition, allowing the work to shift as it is viewed throughout the day.
Alongside my ceramic reliefs, I design fresh floral bouquets that explore the same principles of balance, movement, texture, and color. Whether arranging living flowers or sculpting them in clay, I am drawn to the fleeting beauty of nature and the ways we preserve our connection to it through art.
